Well the ugly side of pageantry has been rearing its head for us lately. We just cant catch a break! So many times it seems that pageants dont go our way, and thats okay, So many different things affect whether Bella wins or even places. Things like what the judges are looking for, what they have already seen, what kind of memory they have, how consistent they score. And thats just on the judges. I never know whether Bella is going to decide when its time to go onstage that she wants something to drink and may just decide to yell for juice the entire time or decides she wants me to hold her because she is tired of standing up. Sometimes she wants to do her pageant moves and make everyone laugh and other times she doesnt. I never know, and I never know what the judges are going to like. And that is more than okay with me. I try to keep Bella's pageant experiences positive, that does not mean winning every time. It means being happy and proud no matter what, and being a good sport and being happy for others when it is their day to shine.
For some reason, many parents do not feel this need to teach their kids proper sportsmanship these days. It seems they would much rather sulk and storm off stage then anonymously say the ugliest things they can think of about babies, parents, directors and judges. Im not sure what they expect to get out of this, maybe a rise out of me is their goal. Well, they sure are getting to me, I wont lie about that. The only thing worse than saying bad things about a baby is hiding behind a computer to do it.
No matter what these people do though, theyre not going to keep us from doing something that we enjoy. I will teach my daughter to overcome the negative by focusing on the positive. Though many careless, negative people may say bad things about her, they are giving our friends and family the opportunity to stand up for us and show us that these people are wrong. Even though they may get to me, they are not dragging me down, they are only showing me what we have that they do not. I am so thankful to all of our Pageant Family who support Bella and I. We are truly blessed to have all of you in our lives.
Thanks for being great =)

Pageants Up To Date
As of now Bella has competed in somewhere between 55 and 60 pageants. She has won most titles that she has competed for, however she has not won all. Bella enjoys pageantry and I understand that some pageant moms take the competition to a level that they shouldnt but that doesnt mean that all of us do. People who are not involved with pageants really do not know the full spectrum. Many people believe that child beauty pageants have negative impacts on children. However, I have found the opposite to be true. Many young ladies that I have seen competing around our state were taught poise and grace. They carry theirselves with respect and know how to speak in front of a crowd. They learn life lessons in these competitions. Like being thankful for their wins and happy for the other competitors when they do not win. Many of the girls we see represent their titles at other pageants, festivals and events and it is always an exciting day when a new pageant sister joins their ranks.
A pageant girl's weekends are always busy! But their lives are full and their weekends are spent supporting others as they compete.
These are things that I want for my Bella. I want her to experience all of the benefits pageants have to offer. And I wish others could see the positive that I see. Every Diva has her day....some days Bella doesnt want me to brush her hair, HaHa and other days she's trying to put the bow in herself. Some days she does not feel like blowing kisses or waving at the judges, most of the time she just has trouble waiting to get on stage to do it though. The media has not shown the best side of the pageant world nor the biggest. What the outsiders see is what is shown to them and it is not at all what 95 % of pageants is like but more along the lines of 5%.
Im sure many people will judge me harshly about Bella and beauty pageants, but that is okay because I will teach her to handle the negative in a positive way and miscomprehended speculation is everywhere and competition is in every thing we do from school, work, extracurricular activities, and even fun and hobbies. I know that I am doing my best for my girl and as long as she wants to do pageants we will do them.
